Saving and Printing from the Internet

Saving information from the Internet is done in the same way you save any documents using Microsoft Word or Excel. First you need to decide where to save the file i.e. either to floppy disk or zip disk or hard disk drive.

To save files to a floppy disk:

Saving images from the Internet is done by clicking the right side of the mouse. When you right click on the image you want to save, the save as option will appear on the screen.

To save images onto a floppy disk or hard disk drive:

Downloading PDF files - occasionally you may come across files that demand to be read as PDF files. This means that you need to download the PDF file you want to read. In order to do this you must have the Acrobat Reader program installed on your machine otherwise you will not be able to read these files.

Tips!

1. If a web page is designed using frames, right-click on the frame and then click on Print.

2. You can also preview how a web page will look and see how many pages it will be before you print. Just click on the File menu and click on Print Preview.

3. Do not click on the Print icon on the Tool bar unless you are sure of what you need to print.

4. Remember when using the Internet for information treat it like a book. If you add information to your project or coursework, please quote the document title, the author whether organisation or individual and web address as a reference.
